whatDoWeDo

We are the Newcastle Ruby and Rails User Group. We exist to promote all aspects of Ruby and Rails within the area of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.

Our aim is to make Newcastle a centre of excellence for Ruby and Rails development.

We meet on the second Thursday of every month, and welcome anybody with an interest in the language Ruby, or framework Rails. We particularly welcome newcomers to join our friendly local community to share, teach and create Ruby/Rails knowledge.

nextMeeting

13th September, 2007 - 19:00 - 23:00 - ncl.rb meeting - at School of Art & Design, Newcastle College
This meeting sees two presentations. The first, by Gareth Rushgrove is a look into social networks with a perspective from a Rails programmer. The second, entitled PhD on Rails by Sam Aaron, looks into using Rails in an academic setting, and will also be presented at RailsConf Europe in Berlin.

So, for a little bit of RailsConf Berlin, come along! We'll be heading to the bodega for a nice selection of ales afterwards too.
